Services in the Accident & Injury Center are unique in that we have 3 clinics in 1; its an efficient one-stop shop that can get you in today! We are a physical therapy clinic, a chiropractic clinic and a myofascial clinic. It has been our experience that each clinic has benefits to offer and that combining treatment options not only allows us to offer more service options but allows you to pick and choose what therapies work best for your specific needs.
We have a licensed chiropractic care department. Our office can provide a healthy choice in treatment for all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. All chiropractors are trained in neck and back; our doctor is trained in the treatment of all areas of the body; neck, back, shoulder, wrist, hand, hip, knee and ankle.
We offer myofascial therapies in both the physical therapy and the chiropractic clinics. Myofascial Release therapy (aka MFR) serves to increase your ability to move in more normal, pain-free ranges of motion; to allow your body to move more freely; and to reduce the physical stress to your body so you can better enjoy your daily life. Patients often mistakenly say their visit was the best “massage” they ever had; that’s because it was actually MFR. We let them think what they want as they recommend us to their families, friends and co-workers.
Electro-Muscle Stimulation is a special form of electrical current that is administered at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the blocking of pain and may be used to fatigue and “pump” the muscle in any phase of healing from acute to chronic, repair to remodeling phases.
Ultrasound, as used in our office, is a therapeutic treatment using high-frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries.
Sound vibrations, as fast as a million times per second, penetrate the tissues in the body. Depending on the setting and movement of the transducer, a slight heat response may be created. These vibrations and heat help break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations. It also helps reduce cross fiber adhesions during the repair and remodeling phases of the healing process.
Do you have a work-related or job-related claim in Alaska? Most industrial, construction, or office work-related injuries that occur while an Alaskan worker is on the job must be handled as a Workers’ Compensation claim.
For most people, driving is the most dangerous thing they will do all day. According to the United States Department of Transportation, approximately 6,000,000 automobile accidents occur every year. While many accidents are minor, automobile collisions can result in extensive property damage or serious personal injury. A death is caused by a motor vehicle crash every 12 minutes, and a disabling injury occurs every 14 seconds. Over 3,000,000 people were injured in car accidents in 2001.
